Cancer Care Alberta is currently looking for a Radiation Therapist I to join our team at the new Arthur Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre in Calgary. Reporting to the Manager of Radiation Therapy you will join a dedicated and collaborative, interdisciplinary team that includes Oncologists, Radiation Therapists, Medical Physicists, Dosimetrists, Allied Health, Nursing, Administrative professionals. You will work with innovative treatment technologies and diagnostic equipment that include but will not be limited to CT and MRI simulators, adaptive RT utilizing MR Linac technology, external beam radiation with Varian Linacs, MRI guided brachy therapy, a provincial TBI program and much more. Description:
As a Radiation Therapist I, you will deliver a prescribed course of radiation treatment to patients and assist in the efficient, safe and accurate planning of patient’s care during simulation and/or planning procedures according to the direction of a Radiation Oncologist. You will assess each patient’s reactions to treatment, document treatment plans, and maintain patient records. Additionally, you will educate patients about treatment procedures, side effects, and appropriate management strategies to mitigate the side effects of treatment, making referrals to other health professionals as needed.
