Description
The primary purpose of the Radiation Therapy Technologist is to perform professional duties in a variety of technical procedures to apply ionizing radiation to the patient in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist. Qualifications EDUCATION: Graduate of accredited program for radiologic technology and/or radiation therapy technology.  Holder of a valid and current:  1. Registration form the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiology and Radiation Therapy and;  2.  Licensed as required by the State of West Virginia.    EXPERIENCE: Previous work experience as Staff Radiation Therapy Technologist desired.   SKILLS: Uses a variety of radiation producing, detection, measuring and recording devices and mechanical accessories; radiation protection and shielding material and devices.  Uses automatic film processing units.  Ability to establish rapport with patients who are under emotional and physical stress. Basic computer skills required.  BLS required.
