BTI Executive Search has recently partnered with a mining technology company supplying innovative Magnetic Resonance based in Sydney West.

We are looking for a Radio Frequency System Engineer with experience in product development and delivery who will be responsible for project engineering and process control of magnetic resonance high frequency radio analyser systems. Prior experience in research and development in the defence, aerospace, telecommunications or mining industry will be highly regarded. The role includes designing, developing, testing and commissioning electrical and electronics systems for company’s products, through engineering analysis, prototyping, risk assessment and appropriate testing.

About the role

RF design engineer with minimum 2 years’ experience in HF radio and signal processing and thorough knowledge of design to component level and passionate about achieving reliability and accuracy in their work.

Areas of focus:

• DDS/PLL synthesiser design
• High performance receiver design
• Active and passive HF antennas
• Naval and tactical HF/VHF systems
• Digital signal processing in FPGA and C
• Requirements capture and verification
• PCB layout
• Thinking outside the box

Essential software:

• Altium
• MATLAB, Python
• Electra
• MS Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
• PLC control
• Soldering and assembly of electronics and PCBs

To be successful, you must have:

• University Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering discipline with at least 2 years’ experience;
• Hands on experience with electrical/electronic components;
• Practical and not just theoretical knowledge; not afraid of getting your hands dirty.
• Ability to work with and understand interconnecting systems including mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly verbal and documentation skills.

• Please note, the role requires flexibility and willingness to travel interstate and international periodically.
