Description
UniTech is seeking a reliable and experienced Radioactive Materials Shipper. ORSC's core business is the processing of Low-Level Radioactive Waste. Responsibilities: Approve pre-shipment notifications. Assemble work packages for Incoming Shipments. Update and maintain site activity log and waste disposal log. Perform in-bound and out-bound vehicle surveys. Perform Waste Container Surveys and Calculations. Determine and apply markings, labels, placards as required. Perform and document inspection of transportation related activities including but not limited to; container and conveyance condition; waste container preparation and acceptance; waste container closure and overall acceptability. Prepare waste shipments, manifest, BOL, and all other related documents in compliance with the Department of Transportation, site procedures, and waste site specific requirements. Coordinate with waste sites and transportation companies to set up waste shipments. Maintain waste site permits and import permits and update as needed. Requirements: High school and/or GED equivalent is required. Qualified as an ANSI/ANS 3.1-1987 Senior RCT. Participate in and pass transportation qualifications training courses. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong knowledge of 49CFR Proficient in MS Excel and Word. Must be at least 21 years of age or older. Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and participate well within a team. Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment. Set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines and adapt to ever changing needs. Ability to lift up to 50lbs in a non-climate-controlled environment.
