JOB SUMMARY

This position performs general diagnostic procedures and effectively assesses the quality of images taken; operates applicable diagnostic equipment including x-ray and digital equipment.

With comprehensive knowledge of radiographic equipment and digital imaging technologies, they proficiently perform standardized radiological procedures, apply radiation safety principles, and produce high-quality diagnostic images. They are capable of operating and maintaining diagnostic equipment, managing digital imaging systems, and using office tools efficiently. The ideal candidate is physically capable of lifting and moving equipment and patients, responds promptly to emergencies, handles sensitive patient information with discretion, and maintains a safe and organized work environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of five years post-graduate experience in the practice of diagnostic radiography preferred.
  • Graduate from an accredited school of radiologic technology.

PHYSICAL SUMMARY

  • Heavy work - Job involves lifting more than 40 pounds. Approximately half of the incumbent’s time will be spent walking, standing, squatting, kneeling, or climbing.
Responsibilities
  • Produces technologically satisfactory and sound radiographic examinations of patients as requested by SHS clinicians.
  • Responsible for record keeping, reports, policy and procedures including keeping current with information regarding rules and regulations established by state, local and federal standards which may apply and keeping the Associate Director of Fiscal Management & Admin Services informed of any changes that could affect the operation of the x-ray department.
