JOB SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of a Radiologist, the Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic radiology procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients as ordered by physicians or licensed providers. This role is responsible for delivering accurate, high-quality imaging while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and adherence to established protocols.

• Perform high-quality radiology procedures in a timely and efficient manner.
• Apply appropriate radiation dose monitoring and follow-up actions when reference levels are exceeded.
• Communicate clearly with patients and families, using AIDET techniques to ensure understanding and comfort.
• Prepare patients and imaging areas, ensuring proper positioning, shielding, and equipment settings.
• Follow all safety protocols, infection-control measures, and sterile techniques when necessary.
• Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment in collaboration with engineers and physicists.
• Ensure accurate documentation, including requisitions, patient history, pregnancy status, and consent forms.
• Keep medical imaging records current and accessible according to departmental standards.
• Serve as a preceptor by mentoring and training new staff as needed.
• Participate in the on-call rotation when required.
