Description Harlan County Health System is seeking a Radiologic Technologist with experience in X-ray and CT imaging to join our Diagnostic Imaging team. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in patient diagnosis and care by performing high-quality imaging procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety, and supporting our physicians with accurate, timely results. Position Summary The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures—including X-ray and CT—to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. This position requires strong technical knowledge, a commitment to safety, and a compassionate approach to patient care, while maintaining compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations, including X-ray and CT scans, in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols. Operate imaging equipment and ensure proper positioning for high-quality diagnostic images. Adhere to radiation safety and infection control standards to protect patients, staff, and self. Prepare and educate patients for imaging procedures, addressing questions and concerns. Accurately document all procedures and maintain records in the electronic health record (EHR). Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Monitor and maintain equipment, reporting malfunctions promptly. Participate in on-call rotations, responding to emergency imaging needs. Provide exceptional customer service and ensure a positive patient experience. Assist with inventory management and restocking of radiology supplies. Requirements Qualifications Education and Experience: Associate’s degree or certificate from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology. Previous experience in CT and general radiology preferred. Certifications and Licensure: ARRT certification required. Nebraska Radiologic Technologist license required. CT certification strongly preferred or willingness to obtain. BLS certification (within 30 days of hire). Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team. Attention to detail and organizational strength. Proficiency with imaging equipment and EHR systems. Physical Demands Ability to push/pull up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. Perform duties in emergent situations requiring quick, sound decision-making. Communicate effectively with patients and staff in a fast-paced environment. Working Conditions Hospital setting, including imaging and emergency departments. Exposure to radiation and infectious diseases—strict adherence to safety protocols required. Includes on-call coverage, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
