Description
The Radiologic Technologist performs radiographic procedures, producing images for the interpretation by, or at the Request of a licensed independent practitioner. Radiographers demonstrate an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology. Radiographers must maintain a high degree of accuracy in radiographic positioning and exposure technique. They maintain knowledge of radiation protection and safety. Radiographers prepare, administer and document activities related to contrast media and medications in accordance with state and federal regulations and institutional policy. Radiographers remain sensitive to the physical, cultural and emotional needs of the patient through excellent communication, patient assessment, patient monitoring and patient care skills. Education High School Diploma or Equivalent Required Non Degree Program Graduate from a two-year AMA approved radiologic technology program Required Experience General Experience Relevant Experience Required Licenses Basic Life Support Required Amer Reg Radiologic Technlgst Preferred
