Summary: The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing radiographic imaging exams to obtain high-quality diagnostic images as ordered by a provider. Lima coverage is primarily needed with coverage at various other locations to be expected. General Summary of Duties: (Other duties may be assigned.) * Operate various radiographic equipment, including C-arm and mobile x-ray unit, using proper radiation protection and precautions for self and patient; Set appropriate * exposure settings to produce quality images * Position patient to obtain appropriate radiographic exposures * Evaluate images for quality and send through Teleradiology to Radiologist with required information; Ensure radiology reports are available in patient’s chart; Notify appropriate providers when Radiologist reports any unexpected findings * Communicate effectively with patient in order to maintain highest level of patient cooperation and comfort in order to obtain the best quality images and avoid unnecessary repeat exposures * Read and follow the safe operating procedures and radiation safety guidelines set by the Ohio Department of Health * Perform all Quality Control testing as needed * Properly utilize EMR system and remain up to date on required training and procedures related to EMR system; Demonstrate proficiency in appointment scheduling, order entry, charge entry, and documentation of patient care * Secure patient information and maintain patient confidentiality * Prepare patients for examination; Escort patient to exam room and verify identity; Record pertinent medical history from patient * Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations; Disinfect/clean treatment rooms and general equipment following examinations; Properly dispose of contaminated supplies * Stock exam rooms and supply areas with adequate medical supplies; Assist with ordering/requesting/inventory of supplies when necessary * Demonstrate proper use of PPE * Maintain accurate and updated documentation in patient’s chart of any visits, communications, test results, procedures, etc.; Complete accurate and necessary charge/billing information for applicable visits and procedures * Assist in coverage of other staff when necessary; Participate in orientation of employees when needed      * Communicate efficiently with other departments to ensure best care for patient * Ensure applicable certifications are up to date, including continuing education requirements Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.   Education and Training: * ARRT certification or GXMO certification required * Current Radiologic Technology licensure by State of Ohio Department of Health required * Degree in Radiologic Technology preferred Physical Demands and Working Conditions/Requirements: * Work may require stooping, bending, reaching, and moderate lifting of up to approx. 50 pounds while assisting patients with mobility and positioning, moving supplies, and performing other daily job functions * Requires prolonged periods of sitting at desk and working at computer, as well as prolonged periods of walking and standing * Must have good computer and telephone communication skills and able to operate misc. office equipment * Hearing and vision abilities within normal range, or corrected, to observe and communicate with patients and staff * Ability to work in fast-paced environment in a professional medical office setting * Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the necessary functions   Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: * PRN: hours as needed Travel Requirements: Moderate travel may be required to assist in coverage at satellite offices   Part-time/PRN Benefits * 401k Plan, 3% Safe Harbor Non-Elective Employer Contribution – eligibility is dependent on meeting working hour requirements * Mileage Reimbursement for travel between office locations * Certificate and Continuing Education Reimbursement * Closed on Major Holidays
