Look no further! Southeast Medical Group is currently seeking a full-time Radiologic Technologist for one of our many locations. We are looking for a candidate who is committed to providing high quality general x-rays, in an environment where patient care comes first. As our new x-ray tech, you will have the opportunity to: Work closely with our providers and MA’s to ensure that the best exam for the patient is ordered to help in their diagnosis. Give quality patient care by explaining procedures to alleviate anxiety, assisting in transport and positioning of patients when necessary and ensuring safety to patients and staff by choosing correct techniques, collimating and using lead shielding. Contribute to the ancillary team by assisting in several tasks, including inputting faxes, clinical documents, logging and tracking overreads, assisting with drug reps and helping in the clinic when possible. Requirements To be successful in this role, you should have: An Associate degree or higher in Allied Health or Sciences Passed the registry or set to take exams for license and be in good standing with the ARRT Knowledge of anatomy and experience in positioning for exams with the ability to adapt for challenging situations. Must have good stamina and be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with strong multi-tasking skills Have strong time management skills, be detail oriented and reliable Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Be a fast learner with a basic understanding of computers A commitment to excellence and a willingness to learn and grow Must pass background check and drug screening Responsibilities: Ensure that patient information and procedures ordered are correct by communicating with the patient and altering, if necessary, before doing exam. Explain procedure to patient and aid patient in getting into the proper position for ordered exam, utilizing aids if necessary. Reduce radiation to patients and staff through utilizing radiation protection techniques, beam restrictive devices, patient shielding and knowledge of exposure factors. Produce a quality image with few repeats, identifying markers and correct orientation for viewing. Critique images to ensure that all anatomy is included and look for potential anomalies that may require further imaging. Keep a log of exams done and exams sent out for radiologist reads and ensure that results are sent to the provider in a timely manner. Maintain a clean, safe environment for staff and patients by wiping down equipment and handling all equipment with care. Report any problems immediately.
