Description:

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and pro-active individual to join our Radiography admin team. We are looking for an enthusiastic and competent clerk/receptionist to join our busy, friendly team.
The successful candidate will cover Radiology reception on a rota basis between 8.30 – 8.00pm. Receive and register patients on the Radiology Information System (RIS) and deal with queries from doctors, other members of staff and public.
Other responsibilities include answer telephone enquiries, directing calls to the correct location, print and process radiology reports and transfer Radiology Imaging to other hospitals.
Support the Secretarial Services and Appointment Services of the department.
Previous experience is an advantage, however, full training will be provided in all the various IT admin systems and procedures required to perform role.

To receive and register patients using the Radiology Information System (RIS) and deal with queries from staff and members of the public. 1. To greet patients arriving for radiology procedures and all other visitors to the department.
2. Registration of patients on attendance, checking all details are correct and checking on the Radiology Information System (RIS) for previous attendances.
3. To register new patients on to the Trust hospital data base SystmOne (Patient Administration System) and update patient demographics as necessary.
4. Inputting of new radiology requests and scanning the radiology request forms onto the radiology information system (RIS).
5. Accept and complete electronic referrals onto CRIS.
6. Complete necessary housekeeping checks on CRIS and ICE relating to electronic Orders.
7. Checking demographics for all electronic orders from GPs to ensure that patient demographic updates come across into CRIS and update if required.
8. Merging duplicate patient records in CRIS and liaising with medical records if necessary.
9. To deal with telephone and personal enquiries or complaints in a pleasant, helpful and professional manner and convey messages and information accurately.
10. Take requests for IEP and Image Transfers. Ensuring that urgency is prioritised correctly.
11. Checking and transmitting radiology images for patients from the Airedale NHS Trust PACS (picture archiving and communication system) via the IEP (image exchange portal) and forwarding all details of the transmission using NHS net email accounts per protocol.
12. Check Xero viewer to ensure images downloaded correctly.
13. Input events from other hospitals onto CRIS so that images can be fixed up and kept in CRIS.
14. Upload documents for Prostate MRI scan to PACS/EI at request of radiologist.
15. Burn images from PACS onto CD as requested using the Rothband CD Burner for other NHS hospitals where transmission is unavailable, the private sector, solicitors dealing with personal injury claims and patients.
16. To check the NHS net account. Forward new PET requests to the relevant site and forward the report to the referring clinicians as per protocol.
17. Scan drug forms onto RIS as required.
18. Sorting and checking the radiology request card is scanned onto the radiology information system (RIS) prior to filing, after the patient has attended.
19. Checking patients’ attendances on the RIS for retrieval of patients’ mammography films for patients attending for mammograms and breast ultrasound and booking of films on return to filing.
20. Digitising old x-ray images for medico legal requests onto the PACS system.
21. Loading patient images from other hospitals onto our PACS system as and when required.
22. Printing and distributing reports to relevant Wards and Clinicians.
23. General typing and photocopying duties as required.
24. Issuing receipts for monies received.
25. Photocopying of documents for Radiology department as and when required.
26. To maintain high standards of service quality and patient care, and to help to promote a caring environment
27. Other general office duties as required by the Office Manager.
28. To take an active role in Clinical Audit.
29. To be aware that any information regarding patients is strictly confidential. To be aware of the Data Protection Act 1998 and Trust Confidentiality Policies.
30. Information Governance – Maintain and process all information concerning patients, staff, contractors or the business of the Trust to which the post holder has access, without divulging such information to any third party or make use of information gained in the course of employment, except where this is clearly within the remit of the post holder and the other party’s responsibility.
31. To be aware of and keep up to date with Directorate and Trust information, including policies and procedures, events and developments by attending meetings. Read relevant communications and communicate and discuss these with colleagues as appropriate.
32. To provide and develop good communications and provide a positive image of the Service to all users and carers.
33. To attend all Mandatory Training Courses
