About Your Role The Radiology Coordinator Specialist serves as a central communications and workflow support resource within our services organization, acting as a key liaison between radiologists, referring providers, technologists, and clinical teams. This role is responsible for managing inbound and outbound communication, coordinating case workflow, facilitating critical and urgent result notifications, and ensuring timely escalation of issues that may impact patient care. The specialist supports operational efficiency by gathering missing clinical information, assisting with report-related inquiries, and helping troubleshoot system or process barriers across PACS, EMR, and radiology platforms. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, comfort in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to prioritize multiple competing requests while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and clinical communication standards. What You'll Do: Serve as the primary liaison between radiologists, referring providers, technologists, and clinical staff to support efficient case workflow and communication. Manage high-volume inbound and outbound communications (phone, secure messaging, electronic systems) in a timely and professional manner. Facilitate communication of critical, urgent (STAT), and routine radiology results in accordance with established protocols and HIPAA guidelines. Escalate time-sensitive cases or operational barriers to appropriate clinical or leadership teams to ensure timely patient care. Coordinate call patching and direct provider-to-radiologist communication when needed. Obtain and document missing or clarifying clinical information required for accurate report interpretation. Monitor and support radiology workflow queues to help optimize turnaround times and minimize disruptions. Update and navigate radiology platforms to support documentation and case tracking. Troubleshoot basic technical or process issues and route complex concerns to appropriate support teams. Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of communications, escalations, and actions taken. Contribute to quality improvement efforts by identifying workflow trends, communication gaps, or training opportunities. Maintain professionalism, composure, and accuracy while working in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment. Perform other related duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational needs. What You'll Bring: Diploma or equivalent required; university degree preferred. 2+ years of experience in international teleradiology coordination Experience managing real-time workflows and escalations Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and adherence to established workflows and escalation protocols. Proficiency with computer systems; ability to learn PACS, RIS, EMR/EHR platforms quickly. Commitment to confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
