Description
The Radiology Operations Manager oversees radiological services for the Department of Radiology and/or Interventional Radiology, including MRI, CT, Mammography and Ultrasound. This individual ensures efficient and effective departmental operations, including management of technical supervisory personnel as well as oversight of safety/quality assurance measures. Ensures compliance of prevailing federal, state and city guidelines.
Responsibilities
1. Trains, supervises and evaluates the performance of supervisory personnel in charge of technical (MRI, CT, Mammography, Ultrasound) staff; develops work performance standards; schedules and assigns work and develops priorities; provides technical expertise as necessary.
2. Development of and oversees Radiological policies and procedures; ensures appropriate safety controls and quality assurance procedures are in practice.
3. Ensures compliance with current safety requirements and state accreditation organizations.
4. Oversees Radiology activities in compliance with state and federal agencies and entities.
5. Develops management systems for equipment usage, space allocation, personnel activities, etc.
6. Maintains and provides detailed reports of productivity, patient care, sentinel events, equipment and quality assurance measures.
7. Maintains currency in Radiological procedures and diagnostic methodologies. Attends seminars and conferences in relevant areas.
8. Participates in personnel and equipment planning needs; recommends and participates in the capital purchasing process of diagnostic equipment.
9. Serves as liaison between technical/supervisory technical staff and senior leadership, as well as others external to the department.
10. Performs other related duties.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree and/ or equivalent technical training
  • 5 years minimum experience as radiological technologist with 3-5 years supervisory experience involving supervision of professional laboratory personnel
  • Name: Licensed Radiologic Technologist (RT) or Certified Nuclear Med Tech (CNMT) required as issued by the NYS Department of Health.
