Overview Radiology Services Assistant UnityPoint Health - Allen Shift: Part-time; Saturday & Sunday 730AM – 6 PM Benefits Eligible The Radiology Services Assistant (RSA) performs a wide variety of routine duties including clerical, technical and patient related functions. The RSA is responsible for assisting members of the patient care team and providing a broad range of health care services such as: patient check-in, preparation for the visit, patient education, assistance with exams and procedures, importing and exporting images electronically and via CD, and patient transporting. The RSA is trained to use a wide variety of equipment, computers, and software. The RSA must be able to resolve conflict and endure the pressures associated with a constantly changing work environment. The RSA assists with exams on adults, geriatric patients, adolescents, and pediatric age groups and performs patient assessment within the scope of practice. Why UnityPoint Health? Responsibilities Greets the patients as they arrive at imaging reception desk and gets them checked in, notifying the appropriate modality of their presence. Answers incoming calls, taking adequate messages. Faxes or mails reports as requested. Burns CD or pushes images electronically as requested. Release of information is then documented in Quick disclosure. Digitizes mammography films as needed and loads outside images into the PACS system. Notifies technologists of STAT procedures and additions or cancellations to the schedule. Do weekly QC check for mammography. Assists Imaging Technologists with obtaining checklist and screening forms. Assists Imaging Technologists with patient throughput. Qualifications Must be able to read and write English at the equivalent of a high school graduate Six months previous medical-related field Knowledge of medical terminology
