Description Job Summary: The Radiologic Technologist is a registered or registry eligible Technologist who is responsible for the radiological needs of the patient while in the Radiology department. Job Responsibilities: Make an initial assessment of and determines the needs of work shift Is responsible for insuring that each patient receives safe, optimal care through appropriate planning and implementation of procedures Perform in whichever capacity schedule and/or staffing level necessitates Recognize job relationships and is willing to function effectively with organizational structure Assume responsibility for insuring continued professional growth Perform other duties as assigned by department director or Administrator Requirements Education/Licensure Requirements: Certified by The Registry of Radiologic Technology after completing an approved educational program, complying with the ethical and character standards Pass a state certification exam required by The State Board of Health in lieu of registry Participate in CEU programs and hospital in-service education Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand, turn, and stoop while operating equipment and developing films Must be able to reach for, lift and carry equipment which can be moderately heavy Handle equipment, controls, films and chemicals Assist patients into position for procedures Experience Requirements: Graduate from an accredited two year radiology program Current license with annual renewal Previous experience in Radiology with cross training in CT Participation in continuing education program Thorough knowledge of principles of Radiologic Technology and/or Computed Tomography Knowledge of now trends and techniques in Radiologic Technology and/or Computed Tomography Should identify own learning needs and seek opportunities for self development utilizing professional literature and other formal continuing education opportunities
Responsibilities
The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for managing the radiological needs of patients and ensuring safe, optimal care through procedure implementation. They must also maintain professional growth and perform duties as assigned by the department director.
