Oklahoma City Indian Clinic is hiring a Radiology Technician to our outstanding Radiology team! The Radiology Technician performs a variety of radiographic procedures and Bone density imaging at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail that requires independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis. Job duties include, but are not limited to: Performs high quality radiology procedures, according to exam protocol. Maintains production and quality imaging procedures by following established standards and procedures. Operates radiology equipment, including: High frequency three-phase equipment, portable equipment, PACS (digital filing system, CD burner, and DEXA equipment. Utilizes AIDET when communicating with patients to: identify patient services, ensure the correct exam is performed on the correct patient, and establish rapport with patients and others and explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patients' cooperation. Instructs and communicates with patients and their family regarding the test to be performed and assesses the patient’s ability to tolerate the exam. Maintains and monitors equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards. Monitors the use of radiography equipment for proper functioning, promptly reports malfunctions. Protects patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection-control, drug and radiation policies, protocols and techniques. Inputs patient information into RPMS and EHR and performs necessary computer and clerical functions regarding radiology request and proper documentation into the electronic health record. Prepares patient and area for procedure. Positions patient on examining table, moves equipment into specific position, adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors, and adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by physician. Technologists must be able to touch patients and must be able to manipulate body parts into the proper imaging views in order to reduce position errors. Assures compliance with Radiation Safety Requirements and Standards. Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff. Uses safety devices such as collimators, lead aprons and shielding to assure maximum radiation safety. Keeps exposure index within manufacturer recommendations. Assists the Medical Imaging supervisor with planning and organizing the departmental activities, including reminder memoranda, PDSA studies and agenda distribution. Assists with scheduling appointments for the department, daily schedules and assisting patients with proper procedure instructions and completing imaging reports. Stocks and maintains orderliness in radiographic exams rooms. Helps with infection control by ensuring that rooms are properly disinfected after each exam. Qualifications Due to the safety-sensitive nature of this position, medical marijuana license holders who test positive for marijuana will not be qualified for this position. Associate Degree in Medical/ X-ray OR Bachelors Degree in Medical Imaging and Radiation sciences Must have current ARRT registry in Radiography. 1yr+ work-related experience in diagnostic medical imaging with DEXA training Additional modalities in Mammography and/or CT would be a plus, must be open to crosstraining. Current Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification
