Job Title: Radiology Technologist - Special Procedures Technologist Department: Cardiac/Cath Lab Location: Unity Hospital Hours Per Week: 40hrs Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00a-5:30pm, 4 shifts per week, Call is required - no more than 12 call shifts per month Sign-On Bonus: Up to $20,000 SUMMARY: Performs as a Radiologic Technologist and a Special Procedures Technologist in collaboration with multidisciplinary team within Interventional & Imaging Services. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Performs as a radiologic technologist; prioritizes tasks and exams, confirms patient identification and examination, provides radiologist with pertinent information for interpretation, individualizes and provides effective explanations of exams to patients, correctly positions patients for standards examination views, performs special or additional views if required by adjusting routine for difficult or limited movement patients. Assesses film quality and determines need for repeat. Discusses exam with radiologist. Works with all assigned x-ray equipment and accessories. • Performs as a Special Procedures Technologist. Procedures include but not limited to: all angiography and digital acquisitions, cardiac catherizations, pacemaker insertions, IVC filters, stents, peripheral angioplasty, coronary angioplasty, insertion of dialysis catheters, PICCs, vertebroplasty, uterine artery embolizations. • Utilizes the ALARA principle to maintain safe radiation standards. • Assists physicians in procedures requiring sterile technique. • Assists physician/RN in immediate post-operative care of patient. Holds pressure to groin after removal of sheath. • Other duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: · 2 years college certificate or equivalent. · NYS license in Radiologic Technology required OR must hold NYS permit and obtain licensure within six months of hire. · If licensed after 2007 must obtain American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Certification (ARRT) within 1 year of hire. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: · Radiologic Technologist experience preferred. · BLS Certification preferred. EDUCATION: LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: RT(R) - Registered Radiologic Technologist - New York State Education Department (NYSED)New York State Education Department (NYSED) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting. For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements. PAY RANGE: $33.25 - $45.50 CITY: Rochester POSTAL CODE: 14626 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
