Description GI for Kids is seeking a full-time Radiology Technologist for our Knoxville office. This candidate will be part of a dynamic team to support our large, privately owned specialty practice. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include any and or all of the following: Other duties may be assigned as appropriate. Prepare exam room and radiology equipment to conduct examinations. Performs a variety of technical tasks involved in operating x-ray and fluoroscopy equipment as specified by provider order. Instructs/communicates with patient and patient family regarding the test to be performed and answers questions. Assume responsibility for the safety of the patient during the radiology examinations. Maintain radiology supplies inventory by checking stock, anticipating future needs and placing orders. Review patient medical history and supporting clinical information. Ensure that the radiology order is complete. Evaluate any contraindications, insufficient patient preparation, and the patient’s inability or unwillingness to tolerate the examination or test and associated procedures. Apply independent, professional, ethical judgment, and critical thinking to safely perform diagnostic sonography or radiology tests. Apply independent judgment during the radiology tests to ensure that appropriate anatomical, pathological, and clinical conditions are accurately captured in the examination images. Identify and document any limitations to the radiology tests. Review examination images and prepare/send the scans to Radiology group for interpretation. Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA) and facility policies, and procedures. Adhere to accepted professional and ethical standards. Requirements Graduate of accredited Radiology programs National Certification Pediatric experience preferred Demonstrated proficiency with computer skills and software programs used for documentation activities and report generation.
Responsibilities
