Company Description Job Description Job title: Manager, Light Rail Communications Department Location: Newark, New Jersey (Hybrid work; local candidates only or must relocate from Day 1) Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily operations of the Light Rail Communications Department for the River Line. Manage maintenance, installation, and repair of communications systems (train control, SCADA, telephone, CCTV, passenger information). Ensure reliable voice/data networks for mission-critical services. Maintain standards, documentation, drawings, and databases. Supervise field coordination for capital projects, ensuring safety/code compliance. Prepare/approve reports, cost estimates, and requisitions. Coordinate with internal/external stakeholders, vendors, and agencies. Stay current on emerging communications technologies. Manage department personnel, safety guidelines, and related matters. Supervises: 2 Agreement Stock Clerks Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field. 5+ years applied experience in maintenance project management. 2+ years managerial experience. Required Skills (3+ years each): Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Excellent verbal/written communication. Strong organizational skills. Knowledge of budget planning processes. Technical expertise in facility maintenance. Strong project management skills. Additional: Strong communication skills; knowledge of the light rail industry preferred.
