Description
Overview This position is responsible for loading, unloading, weighing, and tracking rail cars safely within the yard. Will require being able to operate multiple pieces of heavy equipment. Responsibilities Follow all safety policies and procedures Operate a track mobile, material handler, and front-end loader Use excel and e-mail to track rail cars and communicate with the rail department Understand and track orders for rail shipment Fill in at other yard positions as needed and time allows Qualifications Required Previous heavy equipment experience Have ability to lift up to 50lbs on a repetitive basis. Ability to work in all types of weather conditions. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. . A clear understanding and adherence to safety regulations. Ability to work 1st shift hours w/OT and work on Saturdays. Self-motivated, team player dedicated to the organization. Ability to communicate effectively, including speaking clearly over a two-way radio. Good decision-making skills in a fast paced, ever changing work environment. Preferred Knowledge of scrap is a plus.
