THE EXPERIENCE YOU’LL NEED

You don’t need railway experience to do this role. We’re looking for people from all backgrounds to join our team.
All you need is:
-
- Good decision-making and calmness under pressure
- The skills to evaluate and interpret information and make appropriate decisions
- Previous experience within a Team Leader of Supervisor role.
- The ability to actively monitor direct reports in the working environment and conduct regular 1:1 reviews on a periodic basis to ensure continuous improvement and achievement
- The ability to ensure staff performance is compliant to required standards of the Railway Safety Accreditation Scheme, legislation, and any other company and role specific standards
- Experience of developing and implementing coaching plans to improve individuals output to ensure achievements of desired objectives
- Experience of conducting interviews and investigations in line with HR procedure

  • complete an NPPV Level 2 Vetting undertaken by the British Transport Police.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As one of our Enforcement Team Leaders, you will lead and direct a highly effective and motivated team of Railway Enforcement Officers who are dedicated to the reduction of crime, anti-social behaviour and fare evasion. To work in close partnership with other departments and outside agencies, delivering the key objectives of combating ticketless travel, low level crime, disorder, anti-social behaviour and related problems on Southeastern. As well as this you will also have a number of other tasks and duties such as supervising operations and taskings as directed by your Railway Enforcement Management Team, ensuring all REO depots comply with all relevant legislation and competencies and carrying out other work as directed by your Railway Enforcement Management Team.
Travelling on our trains and patrolling our stations, you’ll help to deal with anti-social behaviour, crime and fare evasion. Sometimes it means physically stepping in to deescalate a situation. Other times it means seizing evidence and taking reports for minor crimes.
You’ll work with your partners, station teams, train staff, the British Transport Police and other services to resolve incidents and make sure vulnerable passengers get the support they need.
Your home base will be our Margate Station.
