RAILWAY PROFESSIONAL MACHINE OPERATOR

Location: Prince George, BC Compensation: $35 - $40 per hour
Are you an experienced, skilled and safety-conscious heavy equipment operator with a passion for the railway industry? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Railway Professional Machine Operator (PMO) to join our team in Prince George, BC. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the maintenance and integrity of our railway infrastructure.
As a Railway Professional Machine Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various on-track heavy equipment to support track maintenance, repair, and construction activities. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic outdoor environment.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Prince George, BC.
• Proven experience as a railway specific heavy equipment operator.
• Must be able to hold and maintain a valid Canadian Rail Operating Rules (CROR) certificate.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment criminal record check and a drug and alcohol screening.
• Strong understanding of and commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
• Excellent physical condition with the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Operate a variety of heavy machinery, including but not limited to, tampers, ballast regulators, spike pullers/drivers, and other railway-specific equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on all assigned equipment to ensure safe and optimal performance.
• Adhere to all railway rules and regulations, including the Canadian Rail Operating Rules (CROR), to ensure a safe working environment.
• Conduct track maintenance activities such as replacing rails, ties, and other track components.
• Work collaboratively with a team to complete projects efficiently and to the highest standards.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and equipment usage.
