Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Railway Project Manager at Ruskin Construction Ltd. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing railway construction projects for CN & CP, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget. The Project Manager will utilize their experience applying principles of project management to plan, manage, track and execute projects.
This role will involve coordinating with various teams and stakeholders, conducting project inspections, managing logistics, and coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers. The Project Manager will oversee projects across Western Canada, including BC, Alberta, and Saskatchewan, with potential involvement in projects extending into the territories and the Northwestern US. The base location for this role is our office in Grande Prairie, AB. Remote working environments will be considered for the right candidate.
Crossover & training will be provided by the existing Railway Project Manager.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

· 5+ years’ experience as a project manager or superintendent on Canadian railway properties.
· Demonstrated safety record on Past Projects
· Excellent knowledge of CN/CP safety & operational rules.
· Demonstrated experience in personnel management.
· Estimating railway bridge repair projects.
· Maintaining excellent client relationships & sourcing new work.
· Arranging crew/equipment & material for multiple crews
· Project budgeting & forecasting.
· Invoicing projects
· Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams
· Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
· Competency on standard computer programs. Training will be provided on Ruskin’s internal software.
· Railway flagperson qualifications are an asset:
o Must have a valid drivers license
o Must have a minimum of 2 years railway experience
o Must be able to pass the Canadian Railway Operating Rule’s training course
o Must be able to pass the Track Inspection Guideline’s training course
o Must be able to obtain the eRailSafe security clearance
