BAGGAGE HANDLER/RAMP ATTENDANT

Have you always had an interest in working at the airport? Join our team at United Ramp Incorporated. We are currently looking for crew members to join our Nanaimo team as a Baggage Handler/Ramp Attendant.
In this position you will provide services which include marshalling aircraft, de-icing, loading and unloading luggage and using ground services equipment. Working in the airline industry means working flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

We are also looking for individuals who are interested in advancement to leadership roles and offer a $2 per hour premium in these job positions. We offer paid training to help you reach your goals.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Safely Marshall incoming and outgoing aircraft
• Operate all air side ground service equipment
• Unload/Load passenger luggage and cargo up to 70lbs (32kgs)
• Transfer luggage and cargo to appropriate aircraft or arrivals carousel
• Perform daily safety and equipment maintenance checks
• Data entry and reporting of irregular operations
• Charter operations
• Grooming Services
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Be able to clearly and effectively speak, read and write in English
• Able to work under tight time constraints
• Demonstrate a safety mindset and a passion for providing outstanding customer service
