Job Description The incumbents will be responsible for the processing of luggage, both at the departures and arrivals levels. The ramp agent prepares, loads and unloads luggage from the aircrafts. The ramp agent marshals aircraft from and to their parking area for departures and arrivals. They operate and position various airside equipment and vehicles in order to provide the necessary services to arriving and departing aircraft. Conform to the legal rules pertinent to the airport industry, Health and Safety at work as well as all the other company’s policies and work procedures. Be able to react properly in case of emergency and apply the measures to be taken. All other tasks necessary for the good operation of the Ramp Service Department. Qualifications High school diploma (DES) or equivalent experience; Minimum 2 years experience in an airport environment; Class 5 driver's license; Must be able to obtain and maintain a RAIC yellow card before the first day of training and a red card before 6 months; Must obtain a DA ramp permit within the first 3 months of employment; Complete and pass the initial training for the position of ramp agent; Pass a medical exam required by Air Transat, as well as applicable security checks, including criminal record; Available and flexible to work a variety of schedules (days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays); Able to lift heavy objects; Able to bend frequently, push/pull, stack and kneel in small confined spaces; Ability to read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous materials identification labels, aircraft loading manifests and baggage and cargo routing labels; Ability to work in different climatic conditions; Enjoy working as part of a team; Oral and written fluency in French and English * A good command of French is required. Additional Information *A good command of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will be required to communicate frequently in English, both orally and in writing, with other languages.
