Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Ramp Coordinator is responsible for leading and directing the airworthy loading of flights in accordance with company procedures and the guidelines of the G.O.M. They oversee the development and coordination of activities at the export area to select freight for scheduled flights, ensuring alignment with company priorities and operational requirements. Additionally, they handle the processing of all necessary documentation, either personally or by delegating tasks to other employees.

Job Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:

  • Meet all related tier requirements for Ramp Coordinator.
  • Inspect all pallets and cargo equipment to ensure these are serviceable before loading on the aircraft.
  • Supervise and support safe aircraft loading and offloading operations.
  • Must ensure the offload and load verification procedures are followed and the verification form completed as described in the Amerijet’s Weight and Balance Manual and the COM.
  • Accomplishing a complete check of the load prior to departure. This includes checking all locks, as applicable, to verify these are engaged and properly secured.
  • Verifies the location of all dangerous goods loaded on Amerijet aircraft and ensures packages do not have any signs of leakage or have been compromised.
  • Completes forms, submits movement messages, prepare reports, etc. in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate the departure/arrival times of scheduled service flights with Company operations for timely handling of aircraft loading and offloading.
  • Work directly with Load Control on crew calls communicating any delays immediately upon awareness.
  • Act as reserve Loadmaster and Ground Security Coordinator.
  • May perform weight and balance duties.
  • Assist in establishing time parameters with loadmasters to ensure adequate staffing is in place to work multiple flights where applicable.
  • Generate incident reports on Amerijet equipment damaged by employees, upon occurrence. Communicate problem issues to Operations Coordinators for further handling.
  • Reviews the pallet inventory to ensure accuracy.
  • Reconcile pallet inventory to make sure the priority is being complied with, and palletized cargo is scanned.
  • Ensure the accurate weight of every single pallet is entered into the system, correcting when necessary.
  • Prints the pallets and weights reports. Documents designated pallets that could be bumped and sent to Load Control.
  • Other duties as assigned by Ground Operations management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1 year of related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to read, communicate and understand English.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding carrying out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be able to accomplish computerized transactions in PMI, Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, UNIX, Lotus Notre and Internet Explorer.
  • Possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record from the state of your primary residence that meets Amerijet’s insurance standards.
  • Pass a ten (10) years criminal record background check for SIDA badge.
  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:

  • Ability to repetitively lift, carry and position objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to repetitively push and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance while kneeling, squatting, reaching about the head, reaching at the waist, reaching below the knees and bending at the knees
  • Ability to repetitively push and pull manual transport equipment (for example, pallet jack or hand truck) containing product loads up to a minimum of 100 yards without assistance
  • Ability to repetitively grasp and manipulate objects of varying size and weight requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to exert oneself physically over sustained periods of time to complete job activities
  • Ability to read information in small, medium and large print
  • Ability to stand a minimum of 8 hours during the workday and up to 12 hours
  • Frequently work in a hot/humid indoor environment
