Description

Our client is looking for an Range Capability Management Specialist supporting the Air Combat Command (ACC). This role will provide direct, on-site expertise in the planning, development, and integration of range and training capabilities for the Combat Air Forces (CAF). The position will focus on advancing live, virtual, and constructive (LVC) training environments, distributed mission operations (DMO), and modeling and simulation (M&S) standards to ensure mission readiness and future capability growth.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI Eligibility
  • 3 years of experience in each of the following areas, with 5 or more years in at least one:
  • Service at a Major Command (MAJCOM) or higher-level staff position (active duty, government civilian, or contractor).
  • Modeling & Simulation (M&S), Distributed Mission Operations (DMO), and Live, Virtual & Constructive (LVC) environments.
  • Planning, execution, and assessment of readiness or training programs within DMO/LVC environments.
  • Development of analytical reports assessing emerging training technologies and their integration into operational environments.
  • Involvement in requirements generation, operational capability assessments, or system program office functions.
  • Experience evaluating technical, operational, and cost impacts of program changes and presenting recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Familiarity with Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) processes and documentation standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and present executive-level briefings, reports, and technical papers.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of CAF training mission requirements.
  • Experience with integration of legacy and advanced aircraft systems into mission training centers.
  • Strong collaboration skills for multi-agency or joint operations environments.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee and track requirements for CAF live training ranges, including threat replication systems, air combat training pods, range infrastructure, and control systems.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of current CAF range capabilities, future training objectives, and related acquisition programs.
  • Provide technical insight and analytical recommendations to ACC leadership regarding system capabilities, integration, and modernization efforts.
  • Support the creation, validation, and prioritization of capability requirements for fighter, bomber, and C2ISR platforms, including emerging fifth-generation and next-generation aircraft systems.
  • Participate in the planning and coordination of acquisition strategies, investment needs, and developmental roadmaps.
  • Analyze operational requirements to identify capability gaps, propose solutions, and support resource allocation decisions.
  • Contribute to program management documentation such as capability development documents, production documents, and initial capability statements.
  • Maintain accurate program records, including briefings, databases, spreadsheets, and official correspondence.
  • Provide timely recommendations on cost, schedule, and technical performance to leadership, ensuring alignment with mission objectives and budget constraints.
  • Represent ACC in working groups, conferences, and interagency meetings to promote interoperability and integration of training systems.
