THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re looking for a proactive and community-minded individual to help deliver a broad range of regulatory and educational services. As a Ranger, you’ll play a key role in upholding Council regulations, providing exceptional customer service, and supporting the community through activities such as animal and stock control, parking enforcement, environmental protection, and public education. You’ll be part of a supportive, high-performing team dedicated to making a positive impact across the region.

  • This is a permanent opportunity – working full-time working 38 hours / week on a 7 day rotating roster
  • Base Salary Range: $73,263 - $86,085 pa based on 38 hours / week + 12% superannuation + Commuter Use Vehicle + $2,464 retention allowance
  • You will be working from PSC Administration Building, Raymond Terrace

  • Provide specialist advice and high-level customer service on ranger matters to Council, stakeholders, and the community.
  • Investigate and resolve complaints using discretion and knowledge of relevant policies and legislation.
  • Deliver regulatory services including animal and stock control, parking enforcement, illegal waste investigation, and environmental protection.
  • Support compliance operations and build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners.

Responsibilities

WE’RE ALL ABOUT PUTTING THE RIGHT PEOPLE, IN THE RIGHT ROLE! HERE’S WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Relevant qualifications – Diploma of Government Investigations and/or Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services) or equivalent.
  • Regulatory and investigation experience – Including animal control, court proceedings, report writing, and issuing infringement notices.
  • Strong knowledge of legislation – Particularly Acts relevant to local government, environmental protection, planning, and animal management.
  • Practical skills and licences – Current driver’s licence, off-road vehicle proficiency, and WorkCover general induction accreditation.
