We provide services and support to adults, and families with accompanying children in the form of accommodation, case management, assertive outreach, financial assistance, community connection and referral services. About the role As a Rapid Rehousing Worker, this is your opportunity to provide intensive and timely support for consumers placed in crisis/emergency accommodation who have been assessed as being private rental ready. Reporting to the Team Leader, this fixed term part-time position offering 30.4 hours per week is contracted until October 2026, located in Geelong, VIC. How you will make an impact Deliver tailored case management for clients in emergency accommodation, including assessments, individualised planning, and intensive housing support Support clients through private rental processes, including applications, inspections, lease preparation, and advocacy with service providers Coordinate ongoing client support, manage referrals, provide interim post-housing assistance, and report progress to the Team Leader Handle administrative tasks such as motel bookings, payments, case notes, data tracking, and ensure compliance with relevant policies Develop and maintain strong relationships with real estate agents and landlords to support housing outcomes and service quality What you will bring A Tertiary qualification in Social Work or a related field and or experience in real estate A current VIC Drivers Licence and Employee Working with Children’s Check Demonstrated experience in working in the Homelessness sector and understanding of the Victorian Homelessness & Housing service system, including legislative requirements A strong ability to understand and respond to the needs of individuals experiencing housing, homelessness and/or tenancy issues Ability to work effectively with individuals in a case management process, undertaking assessments; developing & reviewing case plans; and provide strength-based support to assist individuals, families, and children An understanding of the housing sector including role, context, principles, philosophies, tenancy law and legislation What we offer The Salvos offer eligible employee's a well-balanced package of meaningful benefits including: Salary packaging up to $15,900 tax free + $2,650 meal entertainment benefit Generous Paid Parental leave for primary (12 weeks) & secondary carers, Purchased Leave Scheme (up to 8 weeks) and 5 days paid leave per year to experience working in other TSA programs or activities Access to EAP and health & wellness initiatives incl Fitness Passport Ongoing training and development opportunities that enhance on the job skills and proficiency Rewarding and fulfilling purpose driven careers that have positive and sustainable / social impacts Conditions Compensation is in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award Level 5.
