Are you detail oriented, customer focused and ready to make a difference in your community? We seek a proactive and professional Rates Officer to join our Rates and Debtors team for a one-year parental leave cover.
As Rates Officer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the accurate and efficient operation of our rating system.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Setting and assessing annual rates and quarterly instalments
  • Processing rates adjustments, refunds and penalty runs
  • Providing excellent customer service to ratepayers and internal teams
  • Promoting and processing rates rebates
  • Assisting with rates and sundry debts collection and payment arrangements
  • Maintaining accurate records including kerbside bin allocations and rates remissions.

We are looking for someone who brings:

  • 3-5 years experience in a similar role, ideally within Local Government
  • Great numeracy, analytical and communication skills
  • Strong computer skills and a genuine interest in using technology to achieve process improvements and effective outcomes.
  • A friendly, professional manner and a commitment to customer service
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • A team oriented attitude and the ability to work independently.

A competitive remuneration package dependent on skills and experience, current range $57,630 to $67,800. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
