In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee and enhance natural perils rating for IAG NZ, supporting key stakeholders to achieve their strategic business objectives. You’ll lead a high-performing natural perils team, driving improvements in rating algorithms and collaborating across pricing, technology, and business teams to deliver accurate, risk-aware solutions that support profitable portfolio growth. This is a permanent full-time role based in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland), Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) or Ōtautahi (Christchurch). Ngā Mahi Hei Whakatutuki Māu | What You'll Do Cultivate a culture of precision, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the Natural Perils team. Build and manage team expertise in natural perils models and rating design. Lead initiatives to refine and optimise natural perils rating algorithms. Drive controlled and profitable growth across consumer and intermediated brands through effective rating strategies. Lead opportunities to improve and refine rating algorithms to ensure optimal performance and accuracy. Ōu Pūkenga me ōu Wheako | What You'll Bring 5+ years’ experience in Pricing and Analytics within the insurance industry. Deep expertise in natural perils, and their impact on rating and modelling Strong background in statistical modelling skills with the ability to apply advanced techniques Proven leadership experience, including coaching and developing technical teams. Excellent stakeholder management, with the ability to influence and communicate complex concepts to non-technical audiences. Collaborative mindset, with a track record of building positive relationships across internal and external teams. Understanding of software development and release processes, with experience coordinating model implementation into production systems. Proficiency in analytical tools such as Python, R, SAS, and SQL.
