Description The Rail & Materials Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating bulk material movement, monitoring inventory levels, and supporting production planning across multiple plant locations. This role ensures operational efficiency by verifying railcar placements, managing silo levels, calculating material blends, and coordinating with production, laboratory, and logistics teams. The position also supports quality and inventory control efforts through material sampling, preventive maintenance activities, and backup laboratory testing. Requirements ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES · Confirm railcar placements and coordinate material movement within the yard · Verify railcar compartment status (empty/full) and maintain accurate records · Monitor and verify silo levels across multiple plant locations (Eastwood Plant, Building K, etc.) · Update production boards and communicate real-time silo level information to operations teams · Calculate material blends to support production requirements · Plan optimal material usage for future blending and production efficiency · Collect material samples from railcars and submit to laboratory for testing · Provide inventory management support, including reconciliation and reporting · Perform preventive maintenance (PM) activities on silos and related equipment · Serve as backup material tester for laboratory operations as needed · Collaborate with production, logistics, and quality teams to ensure uninterrupted operations REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES · Strong organizational and time management skills · Excellent attention to detail · Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks · Strong communication and coordination skills · Ability to adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing environment EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE · High School Diploma or Equivalent · Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel and Outlook · Basic math and calculation skills PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS · Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally · Ability to bend/lift/stoop occasionally · Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
