Description

As part of an LNG project, d2m Services is supporting an oil & gas operator in recruiting a Lead Engineer for all Piping, Valve, and Vessels activities.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in the oil & gas industry, including at least 3 years on an LNG project.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong expertise in LNG processes and cryogenic units.
  • Proven leadership in technical coordination, problem-solving, root cause analysis, and risk-based inspection studies.This position requires a strong engineering-focused profile with excellent analytical and coordination skills, as well as the ability to interact effectively with technical teams and contractors.
Responsibilities

The Lead Engineer will be integrated into the LNG project team and will be responsible for overseeing all Piping, Valve, and Vessels (PVV) engineering activities, including:

  • Supervising engineering studies related to piping, valves, and pressure vessels, including piping design, accessories, 3D modeling, flexibility analysis, piping support design in coordination with structural specialists, constructability, operability, and maintainability of piping systems.
  • Ensuring compliance with project specifications and contractual requirements.
  • Developing and/or validating specifications for piping materials, insulation, painting, and technical datasheets for valves, piping, hoses, and special items.
  • Monitoring procurement, fabrication, quality control, expediting, and participating in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
  • Reviewing and providing feedback on contractor documentation in compliance with contractual obligations, including:

    • 3D model and layout reviews,
  • Datasheets and drawings of pressure vessels and static equipment,
  • Piping flexibility calculation notes.
  • Identifying and reporting any deviations from the original technical scope and alerting management on potential HSE, scheduling, or cost risks.
  • Ensuring that contractor resources and competencies are adequate for executing the engineering and procurement tasks.
  • Responding to technical queries by offering cost-effective, safe, and high-quality solutions.
  • Assisting the Engineering Manager with derogations, exemptions, or modification requests.
  • Contributing to other project activities beyond engineering, such as quality assurance, pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup, and operations.
