TO QUALIFY AS AN ADVOCATE FOR EVERY CHILD YOU WILL HAVE…

  • Bachelor degree in Psychology, Pedagogical sciences, Social Sciences, Law, Political Sciences or other related disciplines.

Work experience required:

  • At least 4 years of professional experience with refugees and migrants or vulnerable children
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in the field of protection
  • Proven experience of work with local authorities in Sicily.

Knowledge required:

  • Proven knowledge of the national context with regards to reception, protection and inclusion of migrant and refugee children, including foster care system.

Skills required:

  • Ability to work through networking and partnership.

Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships.

Language required:

  • Fluency in Italian
  • Intermediate English (B2)

Desirable:

  • At least 5-year work experience in Catania territorial district
  • At least 3-year work experience with local authorities operating in Catania territorial district

Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
