Description

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION:

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent in public relations, marketing, advertising, business administration or related fields.
  • A first-level university degree, combined with two additional years of qualifying experience, may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 15 years of professional experience with private sector fundraising, especially Individual Giving.
  • Work experience within the UN system is a strong asset as well as with international NGOs working in multiple markets.
  • Experience in international development, donor aid programmes or another related field.
  • Experience of working across large NGOs or UN bodies in the area of Individual Giving and engagement, helping them to achieve significant growth in income.
  • Experience in commercial marketing with a focus on Individual Giving for leading brands and clients is an asset.
  • Extensive and proven experience working with suppliers and agencies in the Individual Giving sector to deliver results and support income growth is an asset.

Languages:

  • Fluency in oral and written English is required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is desirable.
Responsibilities

The Senior Individual Giving Consultant will provide strategic advice and technical assistance to increase private sector revenue, in particular from Individual Giving.
The Senior Individual Giving Consultant will be located in the Private Sector and Civil Society Branch (PSCSB). The Individual Giving Programme Consultant will work under the direct supervision of the Chief, Private Sector and Civil Society Branch, which leads organization-wide efforts to forge partnerships and resource mobilization to obtain new and innovative resources in support of the implementation of UNFPA’s operations.
