Job Details Job Location: Maysville, KY 41056 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: High School Travel Percentage: Road Warrior Job Description: The Peer Specialist's role is to support others in recovery from a substance use disorder. The Peer Specialist will serve as a role model, mentor, advocate, and be a motivator to recovering individuals in order to help prevent relapse and promote long-term recovery. Role and Responsibilities Will share personal, practical experience and firsthand knowledge of MOUD treatment and insight for the benefit of the client and the treatment team. Serve as a mentor to clients to promote hope and empowerment in treatment. Participate in team meetings and treatment plan review meetings. Provide support, encouragement, and assistance with managing daily life activities. Act as an advocate for client MOUD treatment, participation in community programming, understanding rights, mediation, and conflict resolution, etc. Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications and Education Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent Two years of paid volunteer or work experience with adults with SUD Been in Recovery for 1 year. Successfully pass background checks and drug screen. Physical Requirements Capable of visiting consumers in their homes or the community, which may not be handicapped accessible. Must have knowledge and ability to manage their own mental illness and must be well established in their individual recovery. Special Requirements Valid driver’s license in the state of KY and dependable transportation Qualifications
