SUMMARY OF JOB Reports to the corresponding Frozen Warehouse Supervisor and is responsible for moving product or materials in a production or frozen warehouse environment using powered tools and vehicles.   Requires the ability to work in a sub-zero degree environment where one will pick orders, store and remove materials as well as any other duties as required  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS  * Operate double reach stand up material handling equipment as well as several other types of material handling equipment. * Loads and unloads product from trucks.  Transports materials to and from storage areas throughout warehouse. * Floor stacks unitized materials in warehouse.  Places unitized materials into storage racks * Delivers requisitioned materials to assembly areas.  Records all transactions by scanning product with barcode reader. * Transports trash from various locations throughout plant and delivers it to the proper location. * Assists in the breaking down and restacking of pallets on receipt, when necessary. * Performs daily pre-start check of forklift and completes check list form. * Ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies and procedures. * Move product and/or materials manually as required. * Other duties as assigned.  EDUCATION  * High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year related experience.   EXPERIENCE * Must be Certified in the operation of a forklift or able to pass a written certification test as well as demonstrate skillful use of forklift. Ability to operate a manual / powered pallet jack or lift product.  TRAINING REQUIREMENTS To perform this job assignment an individual must meet the required job specific training located in the Training Register.  LANGUAGE SKILLS  Employee must be able to read, write, communicate and comprehend basic English.  Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must have the ability to write simple reports and correspondence.  Must have the ability to communicate effectively to co-workers and supervisors, and have good listening and comprehension. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS  Employee must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must have the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.  REASONING ABILITY  Employee must have the ability to apply and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Must have the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.  OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Employee must have the ability to operate a lift truck safely on the floor and in our racking system. Requires the ability to operate a barcode reader and to record all transactions in writing, as necessary.  Requires ability to read and interpret a material request form and issue appropriate product to the assembly lines.  Must have the ability to make decisions on proper storage of product in warehouse and to be able to follow a first-in-first-out system of storing product.  PHYSICAL DEMANDS   The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus. * Must be able to lift / carry or move awkward sized items using hands/carts or equipment.   Occasionally be able to push and pull trailer and dock doors weighing approximately 40lbs * Must be able to inspect & evaluate Trailers and loads being transported.   * Use their hands to grasp, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.  Must be able to use hands and arms to steer and to finger controls and adjust controls as needed. * Sit for long periods of time. * Climb into and climb out of driver’s cab of motorized truck several times a day using steps and three points of contact and walk from building to a tractor up to 50 yards navigating stairs to loading docks. * Must be able to bend, stoop, crawl and squat in order to perform equipment inspections.   * Must be able to work in an environment where exposed to all recognized food allergens: Dairy, nuts, egg, shell fish, soy, sulfates & wheat.   * Must have vision at least corrected to 40/20 – Must be able to hear within speaking and industrial noise frequencies below 90 decibels  WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is sometimes exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme cold, extreme heat, and vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and potential exposure to sulphuric acid (electric battery), potential exposure to carbon monoxide from propane fueled forklift. .The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
