REACT.JS / NEXT.JS DEVELOPER – E-COMMERCE FOCUS

Location: Hybrid - office based at Nottingham HQ with at least 1 day at home a week.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

• 3+ years of React.js and JavaScript/TypeScript development
• 1–2 years with Next.js (including SSR, SSG, ISR)
• Experience integrating APIs in a headless commerce or CMS environment
• Strong grasp of modern HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and GraphQL
• Solid understanding of frontend performance optimisation and SEO

BONUS SKILLS

• Experience with Magento 2 (e.g., integrating with its REST APIs)
• Experience with MedusaJS or similar headless commerce platforms
• Working knowledge of headless CMS tools (DatoCMS, Contentful, etc.)
• Familiarity with e-commerce best practices, checkout flows, and analytics
• Experience with A/B testing tools and frontend monitoring

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a skilled React.js / Next.js Developer to join our growing front-end team and help shape the user experience of several e-commerce brands across the UK healthcare space. You’ll primarily work on building and maintaining fast, scalable, and accessible user interfaces using React.js and Next.js, with occasional work involving Magento 2 or MedusaJS depending on the brand.
This role is ideal for developers who are passionate about frontend performance, love solving UI/UX challenges, and have experience working within headless commerce ecosystems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIESFRONTEND DEVELOPMENT

• Build and maintain high-performance storefronts using React.js and Next.js
• Collaborate with designers to bring responsive, pixel-perfect interfaces to life
• Create reusable components and implement design systems across brands
• Manage state using tools like Redux, Zustand, or Context API
• Optimise performance and SEO using SSR/SSG capabilities in Next.js
• Ensure accessibility and cross-browser/device compatibility
