JOB DESCRIPTION
We are delighted to advertise for an enthusiastic and dedicated Reading Champion to lead literacy interventions and promote a love of reading at Bodmin College.
The successful candidate will have a passion for reading and literacy, with the ability to inspire and support students of all ages and abilities. They will take a leading role in delivering targeted reading interventions, helping to close gaps in literacy and support students in building the confidence and skills needed to thrive academically.
In addition to delivering interventions, the Reading Champion will lead on developing a culture of ‘reading for pleasure’ so that all students appreciate the importance of reading. They will support the supervision and organisation of our library space during break and lunch times, creating opportunities to promote and encourage engagement with reading. The Reading Champion will play a vital role in creating a welcoming and purposeful environment that fosters independent reading and a lifelong love of books.
Bodmin College is committed to nurturing a culture of reading and learning, and the successful candidate will contribute to our wider literacy strategy across the school. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and who sees reading as a powerful tool for learning and personal growth.
