Description St. John the Baptist Catholic School seeks a skilled and mission-driven Reading Interventionist to support students in developing strong foundational literacy skills. This role provides targeted, evidence-based reading instruction to small groups and individual students, helping ensure all learners grow toward proficiency. The Reading Interventionist plays a vital role in advancing our commitment to academic excellence and forming students in both mind and heart within a Christ-centered environment. Requirements Minimum Requirements (for posting) Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field Valid Colorado teaching license (or ability to obtain) READ Act training or willingness to obtain within the required timeline Experience delivering small-group or individualized literacy instruction Knowledge of foundational literacy (phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, comprehension) Ability to assess and monitor student progress using data Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Reading, Literacy, or related field Reading endorsement Training in structured literacy (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, Science of Reading) Experience supporting students with reading deficiencies or READ plans Required Conditions of Employment Successful completion of a fingerprint-based background check (CBI) Compliance with all Archdiocesan and school policies Commitment to the mission of Catholic education Functional Requirements Ability to deliver targeted intervention independently Ability to analyze literacy data and adjust instruction Ability to collaborate with teachers and communicate student progress Physical Requirements Ability to stand and move throughout the school day Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds Ability to assist students with mobility or physical needs, if required Ability to supervise students in indoor and outdoor environments Compensation Hourly Rate: $17.00 – $20.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications Benefits Paid sick leave in accordance with Colorado law Participation in retirement plan (if eligible) Professional development opportunities Tuition discount (if applicable) Additional Compensation This position is not eligible for bonuses or commissions Application Information To apply, please submit a resume and cover letter outlining your experience in literacy instruction and interest in Catholic education.
