Description

Infracon is a full-service civil construction & industrial services group with job sites all over Western Canada. We are seeking experienced Ready Mix Concrete Truck Drivers to join our growing team in Merritt, BC and support future projects in the Lower Nicola Valley.
The ideal candidate has a valid Class 1 Driver’s licence and previous experience transporting aggregate with a variety of dump trucks and operating Ready Mix Concrete Trucks combined with Loader operation skills and experience. We are looking for candidates that have demonstrated a commitment to safety and want to be part of an exciting project and operations team.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have a Class 1 Driver’s License and clean Driver’s Abstract
  • 3 years’ previous experience operating a minimum of 10 ton Dump Truck transporting aggregate materials and Ready Mix Concrete.
  • The ideal candidate has experience operating a Ready Mix Concrete Truck combined with Loader operation skills and experience.
  • Sufficient mechanical ability to troubleshoot and make minor repairs to equipment and vehicle is ideal.
  • Capable of working with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to work independently and demonstrate a high level of professionalism.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Must have a demonstrated commitment to being a safety leader
  • Drug and Alcohol testing

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Basic PPE to be supplied by the worker are boots, hi-visibility vest, hardhat and glasses. Infracon will provide any specialized PPE.
  • Drug and Alcohol testing, as required
  • Safety certifications (First Aid, CSTS, etc.) considered an asset
Responsibilities
  • Operate Trucks in a safe manner in accordance with all local laws and regulations and transport aggregate, ready mix concrete and other materials to work sites and client locations.
  • Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection of vehicle systems, equipment and accessories such as tires, lights, turning signals, brakes and monitor vehicle performance.
  • Complete ELD and/or driver’s logbook & daily vehicle inspection, maintenance and repair reports, accident or incident reports.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles including greasing and washing truck
  • Handle and distribute materials, loading and unloading vehicles with materials, and remove all debris and hazards from work sites
  • Represent the company, it’s clients and all stakeholders in a professional and courteous manner
  • Other responsibilities to support the success of the company and it’s operations.
