Description

An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for a Readymix Logistics Manager to join our Readymix Concrete business. The role will be based at our Head Office in Huddersfield and is a full time and permanent position.
Myers Readymix are a well-established concrete provider operating in West and North Yorkshire and part of the progressive family owned Myers Group. You will lead the team of Shipping Co-ordinators and work closely with the Sales Team to deliver exceptional service to our customers.

To become our Readymix Logistics Manager we are looking for the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • Proven track record in a logistics/shipping role is essential
  • A Strategic understanding of the industry, coupled with concrete knowledge is beneficial but not essential.
  • Must be flexible with hours, start and finish times will fluctuate daily between 07.00-17.00, plus some Saturday cover.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Must be sufficiently mobile and flexible to work beyond the call of duty to achieve results.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work on own initiative,
  • Ability to work under pressure within a fast-paced working environment.
  • Excellent customer services, professional polite phone manner.
  • PC literate, Office 365, Teams, order taking software
Responsibilities
  • Dealing with customers enquiries quickly and professionally to meet customer expectations in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Prioritising scheduling and customers orders to provide exceptional service whilst maximising vehicle utilisation.
  • Manage our employed drivers, providing clear direction and ensuring operator’s licence compliance as well as health and safety complaince.
  • Deal with customers complaints, promptly and professionally and defuse situations with diplomacy.
  • Manage the fleet of aggregate tippers and readymix trucks, to maximise utilisation of the fleet.
  • Utilise our vehicle telematics systems to ensure we run a safe and efficient fleet.
  • Manage driver and team holidays, to ensure adequate resource is available to meet customer requirements.
  • Manage the team of shippers and support their training and development needs, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Support the production and distribution of Interlocking Concrete Blocks.
  • Analyse logistics processes to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices in logistics operations.
