Description
Overview Prepares and analyzes a variety of financial statements, reports, schedules and reconciliations for an assigned portfolio of investments. Serves as the primary contact person for accounting matters related to the assigned portfolio. Processes monthly mortgage loan payments. Reviews check requests and invoices and prints checks. Works with minimal supervision and is responsible to make an established range of decisions, escalates to manager when appropriate and updates manager on a regular basis. Responsibilities What you will do Prepares routine accounting, budget, and investment journal entries. Prepares and analyzes routine accounting and financial reporting deliverables. Prepares reconciliations of financial and/or budget data. Reconciles routine bank accounts and resolves reconciling items by the following month-end. Maintains fixed asset schedules for all company-owned assets. Prepares monthly reports for accountants to post depreciation and amortization. Reconciles W&SFG balance sheet accounts related to fixed assets. Collaborates with external management company accounting professionals to ensure investment financial statements are accurate. Processes mortgage loan monthly payments and records appropriate accounting entries. Prints checks for properties and Eagle Realty Group. Processes all bank files after checks are printed. Prepares and assists with preparing monthly and quarterly reports for mortgage loan and real estate portfolios. Sets up, maintains and reconciles projects in Job Cost software to track authorized spending limits. Prepares, reviews, and files all 1099 tax forms . Owns the implementation and maintenance of effective processes and procedures for completing and improving work. Assists with targeted departmental initiatives and is a resource on larger scale enterprise initiatives. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. Qualifications Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Accounting or finance - Required Typically requires 2 years or less experience, having some working knowledge of accounting and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). - Required Proven experience participating in multiple projects/assignments simultaneously and completing assigned tasks accurately and on a timely basis. Must demonstrate strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills. - Required Demonstrated experience effectively providing excellent service. - Preferred Proven experience adapting and demonstrating flexibility associated with changes to policies/procedures or other changes in the work environment. - Preferred Possesses and displays excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey information to internal and external customers in a clear, focused and concise manner. - Required Proven ability to work independently. - Required Proven strong analytical skills, including demonstrated experience identifying and quantifying problems and providing effective resolutions. - Required Proficient in Microsoft Office products. - Required Ability to become proficient in accounting software - Required Work Setting/Position Demands: Works in an office setting and remains in a stationary position for long periods of time while working at a desk, on a computer or with other standard office equipment, or while in meetings. Requires the ability to verbally communicate and exchange accurate information to customers and associates on a regular basis. Requires visual acuity to read and interpret a variety of correspondence, procedures, reports and forms via paper and electronic documents, visual inspection involving small defects; small parts, and/or operation of machinery (including inspection); using measurement devices continuously. Visual acuity is required to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned. Requires the ability to prepare written correspondence, reports and forms using prescribed formats and conforming to rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style on a regular basis. Requires the ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Performs substantial movement of wrists, hands, and fingers for continuous computer work.
