Description Roberts Markel Weinberg Butler Hailey PC (RMWBH) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Real Estate Developer Attorney to join the firm’s established and growing Real Estate Section in our Houston office. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of experience handling sophisticated real estate development matters, with a strong emphasis on drafting and governing documents for master planned communities. The attorney must be licensed to practice law in the State of Texas and capable of handling matters with minimal supervision. Practice Overview Our real estate development practice routinely handles a wide range of complex matters, including but not limited to: Reviewing and negotiating plats, development agreements, and related entitlement documents; Drafting and amending restrictive covenants for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments; Preparing and revising governing documents for master planned communities, including declarations, bylaws, rules, regulations, and policies; Forming and advising nonprofit and property owners’ associations, including certificates of formation and corporate governance documents; and Advising developers throughout the lifecycle of development projects. The successful candidate will have sufficient knowledge and experience to draft all required documents with little direct oversight or supervision. Requirements Education & Licensure Juris Doctor from an accredited law school; Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas. Experience & Skills 3–5 years of relevant real estate development experience; Excellent drafting and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail; Excellent oral and written communication skills; Familiarity with governing documents for master planned communities; Ability to manage multiple matters efficiently and independently. Beyond substantive experience, the ideal candidate will be a self-starter who communicates effectively, builds rapport with clients and colleagues, and approaches work with a high level of professionalism and precision.
