Your Responsibilities
The General Lawyer provides legal support across real estate, development, real estate, corporate, and dispute resolution matters. This role involves managing transactions, drafting contracts, and overseeing arbitration and DIFC Court cases. The position requires a commercially minded professional with strong law firm and/or in-house experience in the real estate and development sector.
Day-to-Day tasks:
- Provide legal advice on real estate, development, and real estate projects, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate real estate contracts, procurement agreements, and related project documentation.
- Advise on zoning, land use, planning approvals, and other regulatory matters affecting development projects.
- Review and prepare tender documents, advising on procurement strategies and risk allocation.
- Manage and coordinate arbitration proceedings, including drafting case briefs and liaising with arbitral institutions.
- Oversee common law dispute resolution processes and evaluate settlement opportunities.
- Represent the company in DIFC Courts and manage external counsel relationships.
- Support corporate transactions by drafting and reviewing agreements, conducting due diligence, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Prepare and review real estate transaction documents, including sale, purchase, lease, and development agreements.
- Conduct property due diligence, title verification, and coordinate financing or mortgage documentation.
- Draft and update corporate governance documents such as shareholder agreements, board resolutions, and company policies.
- Maintain statutory registers and ensure timely corporate filings.
- Provide training and guidance to internal teams on contract management and dispute prevention.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to identify legal risks and propose commercially viable solutions.
- Monitor legal developments and recommend process improvements to enhance compliance and risk management.
Your Skills & Experience

A qualified lawyer who holds a professional legal qualification which confers/conferred rights to practice in the UK, the EU, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Canada or the United States or in another equivalent jurisdiction.
- 5 plus years of post-qualification experience (PQE), with a blend of reputable law firm and in-house exposure.
- Strong background in real estate and development sectors.
- Proven expertise in:
Dispute resolution (not local UAE court litigation)
Real Estate contracts
General contract and corporate law experience
Real estate experience
Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance legal risks and business objectives.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to influence and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
