What We Are Looking For:
Khemka Law is looking for a full-time experienced residential real estate paralegal with a minimum of 5 years of prior work experience within the profession.
The successful candidate must have experience in working in busy environments, which includes a mix of isolated work and working alongside other people. The successful candidate must demonstrate an ability to exercise confidentiality, effectively communicate, and display a high level of accuracy and pride in their work.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will have a wide-range of responsibilities at our firm.

General Responsibilities:

  • Further the lawyer’s effectiveness by properly and effectively managing files, drafting documents, investigating/researching matters, and communicating with interested parties (i.e clients , lenders, opposing counsel, etc.);
  • Provide general administrative assistance such as maintaining the lawyer’s calendar, managing emails, managing closings, and maintaining client records and files;
  • Further the accounting department’s effectiveness by facilitating basic bookkeeping (fund receipts/withdrawals), manage lawyer’s accounts, prepare client bills for review and finalization, and resolve outstanding accounting matters in cooperation with the supervising lawyer; and
  • Work closely with the supervising lawyer and other team members.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in using document preparation software such as Lawyer Done Deal and other platforms to prepare real estate files (ex: Spin2, municipal tax databases, etc.);
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook; and
  • Paralegal/Legal Assistant Diploma from a recognized educational institution is an asset.
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $70,000.00-$85,000.00 per year

Responsibilities:

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accurately preparing residential real estate conveyancing and lender documents in accordance with conveyancing instructions and lender Instructions for purchase, sale and refinance transactions;
  • Addressing concerning matters on files clearly to the supervising attorney in a clear and effective manner and following instructions;
  • Properly close real estate transactions via Protocol, Title Insurance, or Conventional methods for resale transactions, new home purchases and new condominium purchases; and
  • Reporting to clients, lenders, and law firms in a timely manner.
