Rebate Accountant | Financial Accountant | North Sydney | Large Company

A global leader known for its commitment to excellence and innovation is currently seeking an experienced Rebate Accountant to join the team on a temporary basis. This role presents an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with senior management and suppliers to support our large-scale operations.
Your responsibilities:
As a Rebate Accountant you will play a critical role in managing rebate processes, ensuring accuracy, and providing valuable insights through analysis
Processing high-volume rebates accurately and efficiently within tight deadlines
Performing month-end closing activities related to rebate accounting
Conducting detailed analysis of rebate data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve rebate-related issues and discrepancies
Maintaining comprehensive documentation of rebate agreements and transactions
Utilising advanced Excel skills to develop and maintain complex rebate models and reports
Communicating effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners
The right candidate:
CA/ CPA qualified, or part-qualified
2+ years of experience in rebate accounting or a similar role, preferably in a high-volume environment
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, vlookup, and complex formulas
Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus
