We are currently recruiting Registered Early Childhood Educator(s) and Assistant Educator(s) to join our Team in Markham at the following location(s): Ashton Meadows PS, Nokiidaa PS, Sir Wilfrid Laurier PS & Victoria Square PS.
Pay Range: $19.61 - $28.64/hour
- RECE: $25.06 - $28.64/hour plus Wage Enhancement Grant ($2.00/hr), Split Shift Premium ($2.00/hr) & Canada Wide Early Learning & Child Care (up to $1.00/hr for RECEs where applicable)
- Assistant: $19.61 - $22.41/hour plus Wage Enhancement Grant ($2.00/hr) and Split Shift Premium ($2.00/hr).
- Candidates must be available to work a split shift in a before and after school program.

POSITION SUMMARY:
To ensure operational and curriculum requirements are met in compliance with all Ministry and organizational guidelines. To ensure the delivery of a developmentally appropriate, play based program by applying specialized skills and knowledge related to early childhood education. Supports the organization’s vision, mission, and guiding values. This is a fully in-centre position.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education from a recognized college or university (for ECE position).
- A recent Police Vulnerable Sector Check.
- At least 18 years of age or older due to licensing requirements.
- Health assessment and up-to-date record of immunization as outlined by legislation.
- Up-to-date registration with the College of ECEs (if applicable).
- Up-to-date certification in CPR-C and Standard First Aid (training provided upon selection if required).
- Experience with inquiry/play based program design and implementation, and with the use of pedagogical documentation.
- Uses initiative; applies sound reason in solving problems and resolves conflict in a calm, professional manner.
- Proven ability to communicate (written and verbal) effectively and establish appropriate relationships with families, coworkers and other professionals.
- Have the physical and emotional stamina to effectively supervise children in a variety of settings including outdoor public spaces.
- Ability to use computer systems and programs; including Dayforce, and Storypark.
- Moderate level of physical effort is regularly required; including but not limited to kneeling, pushing, pulling, bending, and carrying.
