Description

Simple Learners Early Learning & Childcare Centre is seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and effective leader to join our team as Supervisor. This role requires a dynamic individual who can provide strong leadership to staff, maintain high-quality programming, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster meaningful relationships with children, families, staff, and the broader community.
The Supervisor will uphold the Mission, Vision, and Values of Simple Learners and ensure ongoing compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements, including those set by the Ministry of Education and Peel Public Health. The role also includes financial oversight, program quality assurance, and direct support to the Owner/Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Bachelor of Education or Diploma in Early Childhood Education from a recognized institution or equivalent.
  • Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (must be visible on the public register).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of recent, full-time experience in a child care setting at a supervisory or assistant supervisory level.
  • Strong knowledge of the CCEYA, ELECT, Occupational Health and Safety, and related regulatory documents.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), QuickBooks, and Early Years Portal.
Responsibilities
  • Provide effective leadership and day-to-day supervision of staff in alignment with Simple Learners’ philosophy and policies.
  • Ensure all Ministry of Education, Public Health, and internal regulations and requirements are consistently met.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records, including children’s files, personnel files, and operational documentation.
  • Manage the financial operations of the centre, including budgeting, invoicing, fee collection, subsidy tracking, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Monitor enrolment and manage the wait-list to maintain optimal occupancy levels.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with families, staff, community partners, and regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct regular performance appraisals and provide coaching and support for professional development.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children and staff by implementing and monitoring health and safety practices.
  • Hire, onboard, and train new staff, ensuring compliance with HR policies and Health & Safety protocols.
  • Oversee all compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA).
  • Prepare the centre for unannounced visits and inspections by the Ministry of Education.
  • Report to and collaborate with the Owner/Director, providing timely updates and reports as needed.
