Description

Quality Inspector – Receipt Inspection of Materials and Equipment
Key Responsibilities

Receipt Inspection & Verification:

  • Perform receipt inspections of incoming materials and equipment, such as piping, valves, rotating machinery, and other mechanical components, to confirm compliance with purchase order specifications, project standards, and quality requirements.
  • Inspection Activities:
  • Validate the accuracy and completeness of delivery documentation, including purchase orders, material test reports (MTRs), certificates of compliance (COCs), and packing lists.
  • Conduct thorough checks on materials for physical damage, manufacturing defects, or deviations from specified requirements. Positive Material Identification (PMI) checks, dimensional measurements, and physical inspections are utilized to ensure all materials align with project and design specifications.

Compliance & Standards:

  • Ensure materials and equipment comply with applicable industry codes, standards, and project specifications (e.g., ASME, API, ANSI) to reduce rework and delays by achieving a compliance rate of 98%.
  • Confirm that all materials are traceable and tagged in accordance with project requirements.
  • Verify compliance with Golden Pass LNG’s quality control procedures and project requirements.

Documentation Review and Reporting:

  • Review and verify documentation such as Manufacturer’s Data Books (MDBs), Material Test Certificates (MTCs), inspection and test records, and other supplier-provided quality documents for accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure full traceability of materials and equipment by confirming certificates, markings, and identification tags are accurate and aligned with project requirements.
  • Maintain comprehensive and detailed records of inspection findings and results.
  • Prepare and submit material and equipment receipt inspection reports to the QA/QC team and relevant project stakeholders.
  • Identify non-conformances, document findings, and collaborate with suppliers to resolve issues promptly.

SAP Quality Management:

  • Utilize the SAP Quality Management (QM) Module to track inspection results, document quality records, and manage non-conformances. Training is provided to deepen QM expertise, encouraging strong candidates to apply and enhance their skills even if their experience with SAP QM is limited.
  • Record inspection findings and generate quality notifications in SAP for non-compliant materials or equipment.

Non-Conformance Management:

  • Identify and document non-conforming materials or equipment, working collaboratively with suppliers or contractors to address and resolve quality issues.
  • Coordinate and monitor corrective actions to ensure non-conformances are resolved effectively and within established timelines.
  • Prepare and issue non-conformance reports (NCRs) for materials and equipment that do not meet specified requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with procurement, engineering, and suppliers to resolve quality concerns and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Communication & Reporting:

  • Communicate inspection results and non-conformance issues with the QA/QC Manager and other relevant departments.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports, including photographs and supporting documentation.

Inventory Coordination:

  • Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure proper storage and handling of materials and equipment.
  • Assist in verifying inventory accuracy by conducting regular spot checks and audits.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and validation of all currently held materials in the warehouse to ensure full compliance with project specifications and quality requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with the Warehouse and Materials Management team to maintain up-to-date documentation, including Certificates of Compliance (CoC), Material Test Reports (MTRs), and other required records
